The FCCLA Community Service program guides students to develop, plan, carry out, and evaluate projects that improve the quality of life in their communities. Community Service helps young people build skills for family, career, and community roles; provides youth-centered learning experiences related to Family and Consumer Sciences education; and encourages young people to develop the positive character traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

National Awards: Top Middle School - $ 1,000; Top High School - $1,000; Runner-Up Award - $500

Awards from Virginia FCCLA

The Virginia Association recognizes those chapters who submit the complete program award application online to national FCCLA by their March 1 deadline. Names of the submitting chapters are printed in the state conference program, appear on the screens during a conference general session, receive a program ribbon for their conference name badges, and receive a program award certificate. National FCCLA Outreach Project 2017-18

Lead2Feed

Virginia FCCLA chapters are encouraged to participate in the 2017-18 outreach project benefiting LEAD2FEED.

Participating in the Lead2Feed program is turnkey and easy to do! If you're already registered for the program, log in to access lessons, resources, and more in the Members section of Lead2Feed.org. Follow these steps below to submit your project.

  1. Complete your profile! Click on the My Profile link on the left hand menu, and fill out steps 1 and 2. Don't forget to click on the SUBMIT button!
  2. Work through the lessons! Take a look through the 10 lesson track or the 6 lesson track and pick the track that is best for you.
  3. Complete your Milestones & Project! Once logged in, visit your dashboard to create your team. Next to your team name, select the Milestone that you are ready complete and click GO!
  4. Submit Your Project! In your dashboard, click on the ENTER THE CHALLENGE button next to your team's name. If you have submitted the three milestones, you'll see that your answers are already populated in the form. You can also download a copy of the Project Submission questions to prepare your submission as you complete the lessons.

2018 Virginia FCCLA State Conference Outreach Project Activities

Chapters attending the 2018 State Leadership and Recognition Conference are encouraged to support the outreach projects selected as part of the conference activities. Information will be provided here and on the State Conference page of this Web site when plans are finalized. Check back in mid-November for details.
